AGOCO Booster Station: Saif Gaddafi death squad kills eight
On Libyan State TV, on April 20, Colonel Gaddafi's son, Saif Gaddafi, warned that he would send Tobruk “a
gift.” This “gift” came in the form of a Gaddafi death squad. The squad crossed the desert in a fleet of nine
vehicles, arriving at a booster station owned by the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (Agoco), at approximately
11am, Libyan local time. The squad opened fire at a team of nine military guards, from the Tobruk Division,
who were stationed there.
Eight of the military guards were shot dead; the body of the senior guard, Adel Saleh Alqatani, was burnt
with a car tyre. The ninth, Kaled Taher Mahmoud, received two gunshot wounds to his leg. He managed
to escape in a land-cruiser and headed for Tobruk, where he is now in hospital.
The attending surgeon, Dr. Rida Benfayed, said that Mr Mahmoud was now in a stable condition. Dr.
Benfayed confirmed the eight martyred guards as:
1. Adel Saleh Alqatani
2. Masood Hamad Emrajeh
3. Bubaker Mohamed Alshareef
4. Almahdy Mohamed Almahdy
5. Sulaiman Awad Alqatan
6. Mohamed Isbaita
7. Ahmed Alseweya
8. Alqatani,Alhassy
The martyred were buried in Tobruk on Friday, April. A second team of guards was sent to the Agoco
booster station to secure it, and remain there.
